Alan has spent more than 35 years helping business owners make sense of their finances, spot opportunities, and build stronger businesses. After dedicating over two decades to supporting small businesses and contractors, he founded Acumenica to do things differently combining expert advice with a genuinely personal approach. Today, while he focuses on leading the firm's strategy and future growth, his experience, values, and client-first mindset continue to shape everything we do. In many ways, every piece of advice that leaves Acumenica still has Alan's fingerprints on it.

From the early days, even before we were called Acumenica, Rachel has been an integral part of our team. She expertly manages a broad portfolio, focusing on contractors and small businesses, ensuring they’re always in good financial hands. Outside the world of numbers, Rachel is a devoted dance mom and recently cheered on her son, Fraser, at the World Irish Dance Champs in Germany. With Rachel by your side, you benefit from years of experience and genuine dedication.

Since joining Acumenica in 2015 from a prominent Scottish contractor accounting firm, Alison quickly established a strong portfolio of clients across various sectors. Her expertise and dedication shine through in every client relationship. Beyond the balance sheets, Alison embraces the great outdoors, often exploring with her family and her loyal dog, Maxx. With Alison on your team, you get an experienced professional who brings both passion and precision to her work.

Jamie joined Acumenica in January of 2020. Over the last 6 years, he has become a valued member of the team, supporting clients and colleagues throughout the Business. He brings plenty of personality to the office.

Following in the footsteps of his dad, Alan, Jamie brings a friendly, down-to-earth approach to his work and enjoys being a part of the family business. Unlike most father-son partnerships, they actually work really well together.

Outside of work, Jamie is a keen golfer; you'll find him on the course whenever he gets a chance.

Iqraa joined Acumenica in 2025 and works part-time as an Accountant, managing a portfolio of clients. She has previously worked closely with contractors and small businesses, particularly within the trades and construction industry. Alongside her role at Acumenica, she also runs The Numbers Coach, where she supports business owners with understanding their numbers and making confident business decisions. Outside of work, you’ll usually find her spending time with friends and family, drinking iced coffees, or planning her next holiday!

Kirsty joined Acumenica in October of 2025 bringing nearly a decade of experience to the team after working in accounts since 2016. Working with a varied portfolio of clients across different sectors, sizes and compliance requirements, Kirsty enjoys building strong client relationships and supporting businesses from start to finish to gain a real understanding of how they operate. Outside of work, most of her spare time is happily spent with her niece and nephew who definitely keep life busy enough without needing a hobby.
